Box of Memories by Steve Karton

From September to October 2021, the city hosted the Iskra Urban Camp street art festival. Its purpose is to study the city's identity. The result of immersion in the urban environment of Neftekamsk was urban installations and fresh author's works. The city camping was a continuation of stages of the street art festival Iskra Urban Fest, which took place in previous years.

BOX OF MEMORIES
The transformer substation is located next to the playground, preserved from the Soviet times. The artist incorporates elements of these playgrounds into his composition. The surrounding space becomes part of the work.

The artist himself perceives his own work through the concept of a box into which he has put the attributes of his childhood and periodically takes them out to play.
