In the autumn of 1941, at the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, the RV-1 radio station complex and the DRK-150 transmitter were evacuated to Ufa from Elektrostal and Leningrad. The antenna field was located on the summit of Tuzhilov Mountain, which is 191 meters high. The radio station's territory, covering 100 hectares with the antenna field, was situated in Glumilino, while the transmitter was housed in the building of the Ufa Forestry Technical School, also located there. The broadcasting studio was on the fifth floor of the Communications House in the center of Ufa. Additionally, the RV-37 radio station in Novikovka and Dmitrievka was also used.

The phrase "Moscow is speaking!" was broadcast from Ufa in 18 languages. From the Bashkir capital, leaders of the Communist parties of Europe transmitted to the countries of the fascist bloc or those occupied by the Germans. In wartime, for both front-line soldiers and workers in the rear, radio often became the only source of information. People listened with great anxiety and hope to broadcasts about the heavy battles of the Red Army, the feats of its soldiers, the partisan struggle of the Soviet people, and the labor achievements in the rear.
Radio is becoming the most powerful and accessible means of communication between the state and the people. It was intended to timely convey the decisions and resolutions of the party and government to the masses in their native language. During the war years, radio broadcasts were conducted in 70 languages of the peoples of the USSR and in 28 foreign languages. Every day, 14 editions of "Latest News," as well as programs for the soldiers of the Red Army and the Navy, were transmitted.

The work reflects a moment of meeting or farewell, with loudspeakers announcing some message, the exact content of which we do not know, leaving it to the viewers' discretion. In any case, people's attention was drawn to the messages being conveyed, causing a sense of unease at any given moment.
