According to Bashkir traditions and legends:
Once Agidel and Karaidel met, and decided to set off together in the morning. Agidel woke up in the morning, and that one caught a cold. Wanting to catch up with Karaidel, Agidel jumped from rock to rock, from one mountain range to another, but she could not catch up. She turned back and went the other way. Therefore, if one bank of the Agidel was reared up with steep cliffs and high hills, then the other is a continuous plain. If one side of it is a lowland, then the other along its entire length is a mountain range.

The work is connected with the basic identity of the city - its geographical location, Ufa is located at the crossroads of two rivers, their historical names are Agidel and Karaidel, that is, the White and Black rivers.

The Black River is cleaner than the White River, but its waters are darker due to the greater depth, at the place of their confluence it is easy to understand how their names appeared. In such a contradiction, it is easiest to understand the essence of the World around us with its features, this is called Dualism - a doctrine that proceeds in explaining things from the presence of two opposite principles - material and spiritual, good and evil, black and white.
