Memorandum – city decoration for 75th anniversary of the Victory Day. A competition among artists, illustrators and designers supervised by project curators aiming at comprehension of importance and reflection on Great Patriotic War Victory Day as viewed by today generations, implementation of ideas by means of contemporary practices of creative communities.

Rustam Qbic started with fundamental illustrative practices. Surprisingly, appeared on the global scene in monumental art, visited several continents as major festivals participant. Each work deals with certain social issue.

Some games must stay just games, generations of kids used to play army men. But warning about the danger of tragedy repeating shall be transmitted by the word of mouth, from older generations – to younger ones. Peaceful sky above is the most valuable heritage of the veterans for today’s young generations.

Rustam often addresses social problems, and they become a foundation for his plots. Art must arouse interest and attract attention; this is also a principle of street art which preoccupies an unprepared spectator involving him in reflection and discussion. This audience influencing tool is actively used by many of street art adepts.

In the Memorandum project, Rustam reflected on memory and Victory Day issue using a plot of a kids’ war game which, if interpreted through the pandemic situation may be considered as a forced isolation of the kids from their friends and schoolmates. Social skills are formed exactly within this period of growing up, especially by personal hobbies, games and entertainment.
